Labelled the ‘next Steven Gerrard’, the feisty midfielder is already creating a name for himself. Spearing has already had his name beamed around ‘The Kop’. The Anfield faithful chanted his name as he made a cameo appearance against Real Madrid in this years Champions League.

Spearing joined Liverpool when he was eight-years-old, a solid defender. However as he matured he soon became a battling midfielder. In 2007, Spearing captained the Liverpool Youth side to success by lifting the prestigious FA Youth Cup. His game developed, moving up the ranks he featured more for the reserves, helping them obtain the FA Premier Reserve League the following year despite breaking his leg. In 2009, his glistening form caught they eye of Benitez who gave Spearing his debut. Coming on as a substitute against PSV Eindhoven, he then went on to face Madrid in the famous 4-0 demolition. Although he didn’t feature from then on, his quality is vital to Liverpool’s future. He recently signed a three year deal at the club and will definitely be seen this year pushing for a place in the first team squad.
