Date of Birth:  27th September 1992

Position: Striker

Club: Feyenoord

Previous Clubs: None

International Honours:

                                    Holland U19 17(13)

Fantastic prospect who has been linked with every one of the 'Big 4' in England.

Yet another Dutch star in the making he has been likened to Thierry Henry, his Dutch U17 coach Albert Stuivenberg had this to say "His style of play has something in common with Henry. Some of his teammates have compared him to Henry because he not only plays like him, but also looks like him a bit."

The hitman was born in Holland to a French father and Italian mother and brought up in notoriously crime ridden area of the Netherlands. He credits football for keeping him out of the crime and chaos that surrounded him and it seems it was well worth it.

Having been signed up by Feyenoord as a thrirteen year old he rose through the ranks before, with professional clubs all over Europe tracking him, he signed his first pro deal on 30th October 2008, tying him to the Dutch giants until the summer of 2013.

The 2009 European U17 Championships gave Castaignos a perfect platform to show his true talent and he finished top scorer , whilst also hitting the woodwork twice, as the Dutch were runners up. He was also named in the team of the tournament. This prompted more attentions and after rejecting offers from some of Europes top clubs over the summer of 2009 Feyenoord gave the youngster his first team debut in September 2009.

After making his U17 debut aged just 15 he has netted thirteen time in seventeen appearances, more strikes than any other Dutch player at U17 level and more international strikes than any Dutch player has ever had at his age.
