The new regime at Sunderland is underway, Bruce is the gaffer, backed by a healthy board.
Despite a busy summer in Wearside, Henderson has kept his place in Bruce’s squad and even forced his way into the first team. Henderson can play in a variety of positions including the right side of midfield and just before the front two. He made his first team debut on 1st November, 2008 in Sunderland’s 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Chelsea. The following January then saw Henderson get shipped out on loan to Coventry. It was during this spell Henderson scored his first professional goal against Norwich City.

The loan spell excelled Henderson. This season he has featured in every game for the Black Cats including their recent defeat at the hands of Stoke - replacing Cattermole in the 80th minute. Still only 19, Henderson could be one to look out for this season if he continues to impress Bruce.
