Betting Preview - Stoke v Villa

Last updated : 11 September 2010 By Dan Buxton

Stoke have a massive game this Monday as they try to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking.

The Potters are favourites at 13/8 with BetFred. Villa are outsiders for the game at the Britannia Stadium. SkyBet, StanJames and Victor Chandler are offering odds of 2/1 for an away win whilst a draw is available at 23/10 with BlueSQ, Ladbrokes and Coral.

Stoke will take any win at the minute and it could be a nervy single goal victory. A 1-0 home win is available at 15/2 with Coral. We beat Villa 3-2 in our first game back in the top flight two years ago and WilliamHill, SportingBet and SkyBet offer 40's on a repeat of that.

Villa have never won at the Brit so will take any win themselves on Monday night, so 1-0 available at 8/1 with SkyBet, could be tempting to the sceptical Stokies. Villa are 12's with BlueSQ to be the third team this season to beat Stoke 2-1.

The bookies are scratching their heads as to who the Potters will start with as Kenwyne Jones is 7/1(VictorChandler), Fuller 17/2(BetFred), Tuncay 9's(SkyBet) and Walters 9's(extrabet) to open the scoring whilst Gudjohnsen is 10's(VictorChandler).

Villa will be hoping to silence the Potters crowd and John Carew is 8/1 with BetFred to net first, whilst Gabby Agbonlahor is 7's with PaddyPower and Victor Chandler.
