Betting Preview - Stoke v Newcastle

Last updated : 18 March 2011 By Dan Buxton

Stoke City will look to pick up three vital Premier League points against Newcastle in tomorrows big game.

The hosts are favourites at 13/10 with StanJames,the draw is 23/10 with BetFred, whilst an away win is available at 13/5 with VictorChandler.

Stoke will hope to repeat the win against West Ham last weekend to pull themselves away from the drop zone, as they sit just three points above the bottom three. A repeat of the 2-1 Potters victory at St. James Park is available at 9's with SkyBet and UniBet. Quite a few of the Potters wins this season have been by more than a one goal margin. A 2-0 win, to add to that total, is available at 10's with UniBet.

Newcastle will be hoping to pull themselves away from the danger zone with a win against City and 1-0 would do the visitors just nicely. That score is available at 8's with Coral, Bet365 and Boylesports. Seven of the Potters games this season have ended 2-1 so 12's with Coral for a 2-1 Geordies win could turn out to be a good bet.

Robert Huth is the Potters top scorer and netted the opener last weekend and is 17's with Unibet to open the scoring again this week whilst John Carew has started his Potters career promisingly and looks set to recover from injury to stake a claim to start up front and is 6's with Coral, PaddyPower and SkyBet to score first. In form winger Jermaine Pennant has yet to score for the Potters but has struck the woodwork on no less than four occasions and can be backed at 21's, with UniBet, to break the deadlock.

Newcastle have done exceptionally well and look set to stay up and striker Leon Best has been in good form since the departure of Andy Carroll and, is 7's with most bookies to break the deadlock, whilst talismanic captain Kevin Nolan will be hoping to inspire his side to victory over the Potters and is available at 10's with UniBet to net first.
