Betting Preview - Stoke v Chelsea

Last updated : 01 April 2011 By Dan Buxton

Stoke City will look to upset the odds and pick up three vital Premier League points against Chelsea in tomorrows big game.

The visitors are favourites at 8/11 with BlueSQ,the draw is 14/5 with VictorChandler, whilst a home win is available at 9/2 with SkyBet, PaddyPower, StanJames and VictorChandler.

Stoke will hope to repeat the performance against Newcastle last time out to pull themselves further away from the drop zone, as they sit just five points above the bottom three. A repeat of the last time City beat Chelsea, a 2-1 Potters victory in 1996, is available at 18's with StanJames. Quite a few of the Potters wins this season have been by more than a one goal margin. A 2-0 win, to add to that total, is available at 33's with Boylesports.

Chelsea will be hoping to keep themselves in touch at the top with a win against City and 1-0 would do the visitors just nicely. That score is available at 6's with BetFred, StanJames and WilliamHill. Seven of the Potters games this season have ended 2-1 so 15/2 with WilliamHill, Bet365, SkyBet and BlueSQ for a 2-1 Blues win could turn out to be a good bet.

Robert Huth is the Potters top scorer, is a former Chelsea star, and is 20's with Coral to open the scoring again this week whilst John Carew has started his Potters career promisingly and looks set to recover from injury to stake a claim to start up front and is 8's with most bookies to score first. In form winger Jermaine Pennant opened his account for the Potters last time out and has struck the woodwork on no less than four occasions. He can be backed at 22's, with PaddyPower, to break the deadlock.

Chelsea have regained a bit of form of late but £50m record signing Fernando Torres has still to find the net for the Blues. The Spanish superstar is 4's with all bookies to break the deadlock, whilst talismanic captain John Terry will be hoping to inspire his side to victory over the Potters and is available at 25's with Coral, WilliamHill, PaddyPower and SkyBet to net first.
