Betting Preview - Stoke v Arsenal

Last updated : 06 May 2011 By Dan Buxton

Stoke City will look to pick up another victory to head to Wembley in fine form as they take on Arsenal this weekend.

The Gunners are favourites at 8/11 with most bookies, the draw is 14/5 with VictorChandler, Boylesports, Coral and PaddyPower, whilst a City win is available at 9/2 with PaddyPower and Boylesports.

Stoke will hope to make it three seasons in a row with home victories over Arsenal. A repeat of the result the last time the Potters played Arsenal at the Britannia Stadium, a 2-1 cup win in February 2010, is available at 18's with Boylesports. Quite a few of the Potters wins this season have been by more than a one goal margin. A 2-0 win, to add to that total, is available at 40's with Boylesports.

Arsenal will be hoping to keep themselves in with a chance of winning the title with a win against City and 1-0 would do the visitors just nicely. That score is available at 7's with Bwin. Seven of the Potters games this season have ended 2-1 so 8's with Bwin for a 2-1 Gunners win could turn out to be a good bet.

Kenwyne Jones is the Potters top scorer, and is on fire at the minute, and is 19/2 with UniBet to open the scoring whilst Robert Huth is one strike away from being the first Potters defender to net 10 goals in a season. The German is 23's with UniBet to score first on Saturday. In form winger Jermaine Pennant was Man of the Match last weekend and has netted twice recently. He can be backed at 29's, with UniBet, to break the deadlock against his former club.

Arsenal have drawn a lot of games of late but Robin Van Persie has continued to be a thorn in opponents side. The Dutch striker is 17/4 with VictorChandler to break the deadlock, whilst Aaron Ramsey will be hoping to inspire his side to a much needed victory over the Potters and is available at 16's with BetFred and Bet365 to net first and put to bed some personal demons on his return to the Britannia Stadium.
