Betting Guide: Stoke v Everton

Last updated : 30 April 2010 By Dan Buxton

Stoke go into this game looking to sign off their home season with a victory against an impressive Everton side. The Toffee's have recovered from a bad start to be one of the best sides in the league during the second half of the season.

The Toffee's are favourites for the game and are available at 11/10 with most bookies. City can be backed at 11/4 with Boylesports and Victor Chandler. The draw is 23/10 with PaddyPower, Boylesports and Bet365.

Stoke will be hoping to grab a seventh home win of the season and a scrappy 1-0 win is available at 9/1 with PaddyPower and BlueSQ. The Potters may go for it, with nothing to lose, and 3-2 to Stoke is 40/1 with Bet365 and BlueSQ. The Potters have been defending well recently, bar last week at Chelsea, so a clean sheet is achievable and PaddyPower offer 19/1 on a 2-0 Stoke win.

Everton have been in fantastic form, and have beaten both Manchester United and Chelsea in 2010. They may have to grind out a 1-0 win to get another three points, with the Potters guaranteed to get stuck in and make it difficult. That scoreline is 7/1 with StanJames and Ladbrokes. When the Toffee's travelled to The Brit last season that game ended 3-2 to the visitors and BlueSQ and Bet365 offer 28's on a repeat of that. Stoke drew 1-1 away at Everton and both sides may settle for a point late on. A 1-1 draw is 11/2 with all bookmakers.

City will be hoping that the recent positive performances can be repeated and both Ricardo Fuller, who is bang in form, at 15/2 with StanJames and SkyBet to open the scoring, and David Kitson, 9's with SkyBet and Bet365 to net first, is another striker looking to keep an impressive recent run going. Matthew Etherington will be hoping to net after no doubt picking up a few player of the season awards pre game and is 14/1 with StanJames, Coral, SkyBet and BlueSQ to break the deadlock.

Mikel Arteta is always a danger and is available at 9's at BlueSQ, StanJames and PaddyPower to open the scoring whilst fellow midfielder Tim Cahill is the heartbeat of the team and is available at 7's with Bet365, William Hill and SkyBet to net first. Leighton Baines has netted his fair share of goals for a full back and is 28/1 with Coral to score the opener and push his World Cup claims even further.
