Betting Guide: Stoke v Blackburn

Last updated : 05 February 2010 By Dan Buxton

Stoke go into this league game on the back of a good run as they look to make it six games unbeaten. Blackburn are flying up the league, sitting in 11th after a good set of results, although mainly at home.

The Potters are, as expected, favourites for the game and are available at 11/8 with Victor Chandler. Blackburn can be backed at 12/5 with Bet365 and Stan James. The draw is 12/5 with SkyBet.

Stoke will be hoping to grab a big name scalp and 1-0 is available at 7's with StanJames, Ladbrokes and Coral. The Potters biggest win this season against league opposition was a 2-0 opening day win over Burnley and most bookmakers  offer 9's that the Potters repeat that. The Potters have been conceding goals quite frequently lately so a clean sheet may not be coming and Coral, BlueSQ and Victor Chandler offer 20/1 on a 3-1 Stoke win.

Blackburn have a poor away record with just the once win all season, a 2-0 win at Bolton. That scoreline is 16/1 with Bet365, Coral and BlueSQ. Rovers may have to sneak a win at the Brit and a 1-0 away win is 9/1 at 888sport.com. Neither side are serial scoreboard challengers and a goalless draw is 17/2 with SkyBet and William Hill.

City will be hoping that the recent positive home performances against Arsenal and Fulham can be repeated and both Ricardo Fuller, who netted a double against Arsenal, at 6's with SkyBet to open the scoring, and Matthew Etherington, 16's with Coral to net first, will be hoping to carry on their good form. Robert Huth scored the vital goal against Liverpool and is 25/1 with BetFred to break the deadlock.

Franco Di Santo is on loan from Chelsea and has often led the line alone this season. He is 9/1 at SkyBet to open the scoring whilst David Dunn is at 10's with Coral to net first. Yildiray Basturk is set for his Blackburn debut and is 18/1 with all SkyBet.
