Best Odds - Sunderland v Stoke

Last updated : 18 September 2011 By Dan Buxton

Stoke City will look to take their unbeaten start to the campaign to ten games against Sunderland in this weekends big game.

The hosts are favourites at 6/4 with Bet365 and VictorChandler, the draw is 23/10 with SkyBet, whilst an away win is available at 11/5 with VictorChandler.

Stoke will hope to get a rare away win at Sunderland and have won 1-0 in three out of five away games this season. A repeat of that scoreline is available at 8's with Ladbrokes. Quite a few of the Potters wins last season were by more than one goal. A 2-0 win, to kick off this seasons away league wins, is available at 29/2 with bwin.

Sunderland will be hoping to finally get their first win for 2011/12 with a win against City, and 1-0 would do the hosts just nicely. That score is available at 7's with Ladbrokes. Seven of the Potters games last season ended 2-1 so 19/2 with UniBet for a 2-1 Black Cats win could turn out to be a good bet.

Robert Huth is a regular Potters scorer and is 18's with Ladbrokes to open the scoring this week whilst Jon Walters was rested in midweek so could be fresh for this game. The Irishman is 19/2 with UniBet to score first. Midfielder Dean Whitehead was another rested in midweek and is returning to his former club. He can be backed at 33's, with Coral, SkyBet and WilliamHill to break the deadlock.

Sunderland have started the season with two draws and three defeats, including a loss against Championship Brighton, netting only twice. One of those was netted by Ji Dong-Wong last time out, the striker is 8's with SkyBet, VictorChandler and WilliamHill to break the deadlock today, whilst the other Sunderland player to score Seb Larrson will be hoping to get his second for the season and is available at 14's with Coral and Bet365 to net first.
