Best Odds - Stoke v Thun

Last updated : 24 August 2011 By Dan Buxton

Stoke City will look to book their place in the group stages of the Europa League in Thursdays nights big game.

The hosts are favourites at 8/15 with BetFred and totesport, the draw is 16/5 with BlueSQ, VictorChandler and Bet365, whilst an away win is available at 13/2 with Bet365 abnd VictorChandler.

Stoke will hope to repeat the performance against Hajduk Split in the last European home game, when City triumphed 1-0. A repeat of that scoreline is available at 6's with totesport. Quite a few of the Potters wins last season were by more than one goal. A 2-0 win, to comfortably send City through, is available at 6's with WilliamHill.

FC Thun will be hoping to book their own group stage spot and know to do that they need a win against City, and 2-0 would do the visitors just nicely. That score is available at 45/1 with PaddyPower. Seven of the Potters games last season ended 2-1 so 22's with Coral for a 2-1 Thun win, that would send the Swiss side through on away goals, could turn out to be a good bet.

Robert Huth is a regular Potters scorer and is 12's with PaddyPower and totesport to open the scoring again this week whilst Jon Walters has already netted in the Potters previous Europa League home game. The Irishman is 5's with PaddyPower to score first and atone for a couple of recent misses, including in the first leg of this tie. Winger Jermaine Pennant started scoring towards the end of last season. He can be backed at 14's, with Coral and totesport, to break the deadlock.
