Best Odds - Stoke v Besiktas

Last updated : 29 September 2011 By Dan Buxton

Stoke City will look to get their first victory of the group stages of the Europa League in Thursdays nights big game.

The hosts are favourites at 10/11 with Ladbrokes, the draw is 5/2 with most bookies, whilst an away win is available at 4's with VictorChandler.

Stoke will hope to repeat the performance against Hajduk Split and Thun in this seasons European home games, when City triumphed 1-0 and 4-1. A repeat of that 1-0 scoreline is available at 6's with Ladbrokes. Quite a few of the Potters wins last season were by more than one goal. A 2-0 win, to comfortably send City through, is available at 8's with Ladbrokes.

Besiktas will be hoping to get their second group stage win and know to do that they need a win against City, and 2-0 would do the visitors just nicely. That score is available at 22/1 with WilliamHill, SkyBet, Bet365 and VictorChandler. Seven of the Potters games last season ended 2-1 so 29/2 with bwin for a 2-1 Bes' win, that would keep the Turkish side top of the group, could turn out to be a good bet.

Robert Huth is a regular Potters scorer and is 16's with Ladbrokes to open the scoring this week with what would be his opening goal of the season whilst Cameron Jerome has already netted in the Potters previous Europa League group game. The £4m man is 8's with VictorChandler to score first and make it two in two in european competition. Winger Jermaine Pennant started scoring towards the end of last season and is due a goal again. He can be backed at 16's, with most bookies, to break the deadlock
