Stafford Rangers 2-2 Stoke Ramblers

A dramatic late equaliser from midfielder Simon Duckmanton made it four games unbeaten for the Ramblers, a club record.

The Ramblers travelled to Stafford hoping to secure the clubs first ever double, after the sides secured their first ever victory in January's reverse fixture between these sides.

The game was played in great spirits and both sides competed in an even encounter, even though the home keeper was the busier man, pulling off three of four outstanding saves throughout the game.

The Ramblers were without Dan Barkell and Mitch Mayland(ill), Dan Buxton(work) and Rich Glennon and Dan Griffin who were out with knee injuries but still went ahead when Ben Steadman found Chris Cope, and the winger made no mistake, breaking the deadlock with a smart finish.

The hosts managed to pull themselves level before half time before getting themselves in front with less than ten minutes remaining.

The Ramblers looked like they were going to lose their unbeaten record until, with just a minute left, a ball into the box by the returning Chris Evans was headed towards goal by a home defender. The keeper managed to save the effort but could only push the ball up into the air and Duckmanton siezed the opportunity, flinging himself at the ball to knock it over the line and earn another point for the Ramblers.
