A look at Hardlys opening cup game of the season

Hardly Athletic get their second season cup campaign under way tonight, and have a strong squad to choose from.

After releasing Dave Capostagno and season one top scorer Ash Newman, aswell as losing Dan Hallam at the end of Season One to Sunday league training, Hardly have been hot on the recruitment trail to make up the numbers whilst the majority of the squad are unavailable, even recruiting new keeper Paul Dale this morning.

With Capostagno, Newman and Hallam gone, Athletic will also be without Andy McEvoy(leg), Chris Cope(back) and Matthew Young(other commitments). New signing Dale is ineligible due to the club not being allowed to register players before a cup game.

Last seasons Player of the Season Joe Gordon is available though, along with Matthew Peart and defensive duo Dan Buxton and Matt Carter.

Hardly have called on the services of new signings Adam Machin and Adam Kemp , who both scored and impressed on debut two weeks ago, to make up the squad, with Dan Middleton returning after a lengthy lay off with a knee injury.

Players available for game against Stanley Park Avenue, 9.05pm ko
