Hardly Complete Double Over Veterans

Hardly Athletic secured their seventh league win of the season to end a barren run of results.

Hardly had won just once in six games before the game but were soon in front thanks to a clinically taken penalty from Chris Cope.

The lead was doubled before half time when the energetic James Robins finished low and hard, before having a shot hit both posts and rebound out minutes later.

City Veterans had gone close themselves a couple of times and Hardly needed Joe Gordon to be in top form inbetween the sticks for them to retain their two goal advantage going into the break.

After a third Hardly goal, thanks to Matthew Peart, Veterans struck back to give themselves hope when a powerful effort flew past Gordon and into the top corner.

Athletic were not to be denied though and Robins added his second to put Athletic three in front and then a second penalty, this time taken by Peart, ended the scoring and secured the points for Hardly.
