Poll result: MOTM v Chelsea

Last updated : 15 September 2009 By Dan Buxton
What a game! What a finale! What bad luck! That was Saturday and now we can bring you the result of who you voted StokeMAD Man of the Match in that epic game.

A show of just how much a team performance it was is in the fact that only two subs and two players who went off injured early on failed to get any votes. Mosts votes went to the defence as Simonsen picked up 2.9% whilst the trio of midfielders all received 4.4% of the votes each.

All 5 defenders are in the top six, with just Dave Kitson, who polled 10.3%, for company. The top 3 were as follows:

2=) Wilkinson - 11.8% - Full back who had a fantastic game. So often he was left with both left sided players and manfully kept them at bay until help arrived. Continues to improve

2=) Huth - 11.8% - No frills full debut for the big German. Made everything look so simple, he has give the manager a real headache for this weekend.

1) A.D. Faye - 29.4% - Back to his supreme best. Captains display, clever finish for goal and was always there. Nothing any defender could have done with Drogba's goal and faultless after that.

MOTM 2009/10

1 - Dave Kitson, Thomas Sorenson, Rory Delap, Glenn Whelan, Abdoulaye Faye

The player wih most MOTM awards at the end of the season will receive the StokeMAD player of the year award
