Poll Result: MOTM v Blackpool

Last updated : 25 September 2009 By Dan Buxton
Citys barnstorming victory led to a number of early front runners, but they fell away one by one, Fuller finished 5th with 6.8% of the vote and fellow sub Matthew Etherington was one place higher with 10.8%. Numerous other players got a vote or two as many voters went for different options in one of the most spread votes yet.

The top 3 were as follows:

3) Danny Pugh - 14.9% - Never stopped running, as usual, and tested the keeper more than once whilst also flying into many tackles to retrieve the ball.

2) Andy Griffin - 16.2% - Full back scored the winning goal but gave a much more complete performance than that. Griffin may have caught oyt a few times in defence but his darting runs and dangerous crosses were a throwback to the youth team graduate in his prime. Got a few fans back on side after last seasons slapping incident with Fuller.

1) Tuncay - 25.7% - Turkish star given his first start and didn't disappoint. How he didn't score I'll never know. Missed a glorious one-on-one chance, had a penalty taken away from him by Lawrence, a penalty he was fouled for when about to pull the trigger and also set up both Fuller and Etherington in that four goals in five minute spell. Not a bad days work and a lot of you agreed.
