The Potters bounced back in midweek, securing their place in the third round of the Carling cup with a 2-1 win over Shrewsbury, and although it wasn't a classic performance a few players did give a decent showing
The Man of the Match poll result is as follows:
1) Jon Walters - 46.4% - Opened his Potters account with a great header, getting in front of the defender and placing his header inside the far post. Another top performance from the new signing as he continued all his good work from the weekend
2) Tuncay - 23.8% - Seemed to be trying too hard as he miscued two early shots but his goal, a well taken header, seemed to settle him as he looked to impress manager Tony Pulis
3) Matthew Etherington - 13.1% - Winger set up both goals with great crosses and looked threatening without ever really getting out of second gear.
4) Rory Delap - 3.6%
5) Andy Wilkinson - 2.4%
