Poll Result: Man of the Match v Portsmouth

The Potters may have beaten Portsmouth by one goal to nil on Saturday but the performance didn't impress many. This was reflected on the poll as fewer votes than normal were cast as people struggled to find a Man of the Match.

Goalkeeper Thomas Sorenson, midfielder Dean Whitehead and sub Mama Sidibe all received one vote and then the top 3 were as follows:

3) Liam Lawrence - 6.3% - Came off the bench after 55 minutes and turned the game. Got the ball on the deck and showed the Potters how best to play the game in the awkward weather conditions.

2) Matthew Etherington - 12.5% - What a turnaround in form. Six weeks ago he was inneffective, now he has a game thats drops below the standard he has been showing and still picks up the runners up award. Six games straight now he has been in the top 3 and he is away at the top if the standings. Was dangerous and if people had moved for him he could have produced more.

1) Andy Wilkinson - 54.2% - Overwhelming winner. Picked up the official award, the award in most of the papers and was picked out on Match of the Day 2 as the best player on the pitch. Was brave in every tackle, committed and goes forward more and more these days. Looks a proper Premier League full back this season and another faultless display surely leaves him undroppable for Blackburn.
