Well an exciting end saw three players go right to the wire in the search for the Man of the Match versus Villa. Every player got at least one vote, but only four got more than a few, with Glenn Whelan grabbing 11.3% of the vote in fourth. The top three was as follows:
3) Rory Delap - 17.5% - Followed on from his midweek MOTM performance with another all action display, helping to contain the visitors midfield and attack.
2) Ricardo Fuller -18.6% - Came on as a second half sub and provided instant energy and excitement, dribbling past numerous defenders but couldn't find the key finish after lighting up the game
1) Matthew Etherington - 20.6% - Picked up a seventh MOTM award this season after an impressive home return from injury. Helped his defender all game, making sure we were tight at the back, and was always willing and able to get forward and create chances at the other end.
