Oppositions View: Portsmouth

Portsmouth have had a tricky start to the season, not helped by a lack of luck in front of goal, whilst Stoke are flying high and come to Fratton Park on the back of an impressive win at ''The Lane''. Do you think the hosts have a good chance of progressing to the last eight?

I think we have a fair chance but it depends on how seriously both managers are going to take the competition. I expect there will be changes in both teams but we've been playing well at home without getting the results so I think we can definitely win despite Stoke's impressive start to the season.

The Potters are well known for a physical style but what kind of style are Pompey likely to play?

We've recently been playing a 4-4-2 formation with a "diamond" midfield. We look to play the ball on the ground but can mix it up if we need to.

How are Pompey treating this game? Will it be the first team hoping to secure a confidence boosting win or a full reserve side to let the main men rest up ahead of important league games?

I expect Hart to play a few of the fringe players in the squad such as Richard Hughes, Mike Williamson and Frederic Piquionne but along with some first team players like Younes Kaboul and Kevin-Prince Boateng. It'll be a tough game no matter who Hart decides to play.

Are there any Stoke players you are wary of?

All of the ex-Pompey and ex-Scummers you have in the squad! But in particular James Beattie and Ricardo Fuller who are unpopular with the Fratton Park crowd. Tuncay was a good signing and I really rate Ryan Shawcross at the back too.

 ...and finally, a prediction?

We'll win 2-1 after extra time or we'll just capitulate and lose 3-0. I hope for the former!
