Oppositions View: Newcastle United (H)

Newcastle are doing well, sitting pretty in the league, and Stoke have progressed to the last four of the FA Cup but need league points to guarantee survival. How do you think the game will go

I think your direct approach to the game will cause us problems as i think our centre' backs main weakness is dealing with the ball in the air as proved when we were thumped by Bolton at the Reebok a while back 5-1. I predict a 1-0 win for Stoke with the old Delap throw, Huth header tactic.

What style of performance will Newcastle aim for

Our style of play is dictated by the injury to Joey Barton imo. If he is fit, we will look to play decent football and look for Best in the channels quite often. If he is not fit, i fear we will resort to Pulis tactics of route one hoof ball which will be suicidal against yourselves.

Did it come as a shock when Carroll left in January, and what do you think of the strikers at the club now

Wasn't shocked when Carroll left nor was i displeased with the money we got for him. I was however unhappy we sold him so late in the window thus preventing us from signing a replacement. Did Ashley and co plan that all along? Maybe, maybe not. I do however think the N'Zogbia bid was purposefully made because we knew we wouldn't get him but it looked like Ashely was trying to sign a replacement using the money gained from the Carroll transfer. That is why i'm slighty worried about the business we may do in the summer.

If you could pick one Stoke player for your team?

Leon Best has surprised most toon fans with his recent good form and i think he has shown enough to prove he is a capable premier league player. Other than him we are weak though. Shola is inconsistant and rather injury prone, Lover is past his best and Nile Ranger is still very raw. We need to improve our striking options in the summer without a doubt.

The best Stoke player in my opinion is Etherington but he would struggle to get in our team as we are strong on the left of midfield. For that reason i'd choose Pennant as we are weaker on the right. Huth isn't bad on his day though i hate the kunt >:)

If you could give one of your players to Stoke?

You can have Alan Smith, James Perch or Sol Campbell. Take your pick ;D

Prediction

1-0 Stoke win. Huth header from a delap throw but we will pose a threat going forward if we have certain people back from injury like Barton, Ameobi and Ireland.
