Fantasy Football League Review Week One

Last updated : 18 August 2009 By Dan Buxton
 Fix! It's all a fix!

The leader of the prediction league after gameweek one just so happens to be...ME! Buxton's Boys acquired an impressive total of 67 points, helped by star men Thomas Sorenson and Matthew Upson whilst Wayne Rooney and Stephen Ireland chipped with goos scores. Captain for the week Frank Lampard only scored 4 points, James Beattie is the only player in the team whose score was lower than Lampard.

The early lead is a paltry 2 points, from Legends XI, where 36 of the 65 points came from captain Didier Drogba and star defender Upson. The Legends would have taken top spot had Thomas Sorenson played in goal rather than Chelsea stopper Petr Cech, or if as expected Cech had been able to keep a clean sheet against Hull.

The early wooden spoon holders in the 8 team league goes to copeys boys. The first week total of 43 points was 24 points off the leader, and top scorer's Ben Foster, Liam Lawrence and Marcus Bent only managed a meagre six points.

The seconds game week is more than likely going to see big changes to the table so make sure your team is just how you want it before todays deadline.
