Signed from local rivals Crewe Alex after progressing through the youth system at Gresty Road.

Had an impressive first pre-season, scoring a brace against Mangotsfield whilst putting in eye catching substitute appearances against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle Town.

Was loaned out to Northampton for the first 3 months of the 2009/10 season to gain some first team experience and shone, before another succesful loan spell at Cheltenham. Early 2010 saw him progress to a League One club as he joined Carlisle and, after forcing his way into the side, he impressed immensely and did enough to see the Cumbrians re-sign him on a loan deal for the 2010/11 season.

Suffered an horrific double leg break within minutes of the start of the Johnstone Paints Trophy final at Wembley, a bad challenge brought about due to his impressive start to the game and his reputation as one of the most dangerous and game changing players in the division. Described by some Carlisle fans as the best player to play at the club since Leon Osman.

Looks a great prospect for the future and one City may well utilise with the extra workload in the coming season.
