Player Ratings: Sunderland 0-4 Stoke City

Last updated : 21 September 2011 By Dan Buxton

Asmir Begovic - 5 - Had a mare. Started the rot when he let the tame first through his legs

Robert Huth - 5 - Was made to look very ordinary at full back

Marc Wilson - 6 - One of the better performers, passed the ball out well

Jonathan Woodgate - 6 - Scored an own goal but was trying to defend a brilliant ball into the box. So-so performance before and after that

Ryan Shawcross - 6 - Not a great performance by any stretch but can't really be put at fault for any of the goals. Cruel deflection on the third

Jon Walters - 6 - Poor performance. Plenty of effort but no end product on right wing

Matthew Etherington - 5 - Very little output from such a key player is a worry

Rory Delap - 5 - No closing down in the middle, allowed the home middle men to run riot and dominate proceedings

Dean Whitehead - 5 - Not his usual self as he lacked the drive and bite

Cameron Jerome - 6 - DId well after such a tough game on Thursday night. Denied a second in two games after creating CIty's best chance

Peter Crouch- 6 - Some neat touches but very little threat bar one chance where he missed the ball

Jermaine Pennant - 5 - Offered very little as an attacking threat but didn't have much support or service

Wilson Palacios - 7(Man of the Match) - Got stuck in and was the best player on the pitch after second half introduction

Kenwyne Jones - 6 - Looked lively but should have passed the ball off after one very good run forward
