Last updated : 21 September 2011 By Dan Buxton

Thomas Sorensen - 7 - Didn't really have much to do in the game but was the hero after the shoot out, a great save to seperate the sides

Ryan Shotton - 7 - Cramped up throughout extra time but battled on and put his spot kick away. Wayward crossing but solid in defence

Marc WIlson - 7 - Great first half but tired as the game went on, has played a lot this term

Robert Huth - 7 - Back in his natural position and had a very solid game.

Matthew Upson - 7 - Cooly took a pressure penalty to top off another very promising game at the heart of the defence. Classy player

Jermaine Pennant - 7 - Got frustrated with Shotton on a couple of occasions but blew hot and cold when on the ball himself. Some good deliveries but some poor ones aswell

Matthew Etherington - 6 - Worrying lack of form continued. Had a better game with some promising signs but was out of the game far too much in some a key position in the side

Glenn Whelan - 6 - Never really got going and looked as though he was holding back in the middle of the park

Wilson Palacios - 7(Man of the Match) - Rattled the Spurs midfield as he pushed and pressured, whilst showing great strength when both on and off the field. Very promising full home debut

Cameron Jerome - 7 - Looked dangerous and on the ball throughout his third start in five days. Has great pace and showed smart feet to trouble defenders

Kenwyne Jones - 6 - Bright opening before hamstring injury ended his game

Peter Crouch - 6 - Thrust into action to replace stricken Jones and got involved but wasn't his night. Was on hand to tap in wnner late on but Gomes somehow kept out his point blank effort

Salif Diao - 7 - Came on and went very close to an unlikely winner. Got stuck in, won a lot of balls in the middle and knocked it off well.

Jon Walters - 7 - Plenty of energy after stepping off bench. Missed a one on one chance late on but buried his penalty to start the shoot out
