Potters Striker Receives England Call Up

City striker Louis Moult has been put on standby for England U19's game with Slovakia.

The game is scheduled to be played on September 2nd, a Crewe's Gresty Road ground.

Moult, 18, is currently on loan at League Two Bradford and has played in both the Bantams games so far this season.

The teenager who top scored for both the Potters reserve and U18 sides last season is also the clubs youngest ever Premier League player, a feat achieved when he came off the bench during the Potters away trip to Burnley earlier this year. The locally born star also played in Carling Cup games away at Leyton Orient and Portsmouth last season whilst he was an unused sub for a large number of the Potters games since the turn of the year.

Moult's call up is the second time in less than 12 months that a graduate of the Potters academy has been called up by the England U19's, with the now released Nathaniel Wedderburn earning four caps at that level during the 2009/10 season.

A familiar face will greet Moult, should his call up be confirmed, with former Potters U18's boss Noel Blake the man in charge of the England U19's.
