Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is closing in on a move to the Britannia Stadium as the Potters look to splash the cash ready for the seaosn opener on 14th August.

Boateng had a great World Cup, taking his stock through the roof, but the Ghana international is still at Fratton Park, despite prolonged talks with Lazio after the relegated Southerners agreed a £4m fee.

That same fee has now also been agreed with the Potters and Boateng is in deep discussions with the Potters over personal terms, with the two parties close to agreeing a deal.

The Potters transfer window has really hotted up over the last 48 hours with Boateng just one of a number of players who are in discussions with City over  a move to the Premier League as the club look to add to this summers two new recruits, experienced back up keeper Carlo Nash and teenager Florent Cuvelier, also from Pompey.
