Huth played under Villas-Boas when he assisted Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge and the fixture list pitches the pair against each other at the Britannia Stadium on the opening day of the season.
And while Huth is hoping to spoil the Portuguese coach's debut, he expects the 33-year-old to be a success in west London.
"I spent a little bit of time under Mourinho at Chelsea when Andre was his assistant," Huth told Stoke's official website.
"He was a very impressive and organised individual, he had everything in his head and would always talk to us and prepare us for games.
"He is extremely young but that does not mean anything because he has shown his credentials at Porto and now he has been given the chance to do something similar at Chelsea.
"I think he has all the qualities to be a success there, just like he was at Porto, but hopefully things don't start off so well for him when they come here in August."
