Clint told the official web-site: "We've worked really hard over the past week or so in training.

"On Saturday morning the gaffer had us doing loads of running exercises on the pitch here at the Britannia Stadium and we did a lot of power and fitness running.

"So far this week we've done lots of ball work and worked on set-pieces and hopefully our hard work will pay off but it's that bit of luck in front of goal that we really need.

"The break has felt like a long time to be honest, especially with losing against Leeds in the last game."

As for the two icelandic additions to the squad..

"They both look sharp, keen players who are eager to play for Stoke City so that's the first step.

"It's good to have a couple of additions to the squad and it brings well needed fresh faces to the club.

"It's up to them now to rise to the challenge and progress into the first-team."
