2 years ago today: Thumbs up for Tuncay, no support for Whitehead and Huth

Well of the seven only Ben Marshall and Dean Whitehead failed to receive any votes, the Potters fans obviously thinking on initial impressions that £5m is a bit steep for the ex-Sunderland captain.

Marshall's fellow Crewe academy graduate Ben Lund received one vote and £6m defender Rob Huth was voted for twice.

The top 3 though were:

3) Danny Collins - 4.7% - Another ex-Sunderland captain could prove to be a real bargain if he improves the left back area, one of the areas of the team that is weak at the moment.

2) Diego Arismendi - 10.5% - Uruguayan wonderkid who, at 21, has numerous Copa Libertadores appearances and has won player of the year last season for Uruguayan champions Nacional. Defensive midfielder known as 'The Destroyer' turned down some major clubs to sign for £3.5m

1) Tuncay Sanli - 76.7% - Captain of Turkey, courted by Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa, he once scored a hat trick against Manchester United in the Champions League so that alone will make him a cult hero within the Britannia Stadium. £5m fee is probably half of what he is worth and many fans of many clubs are still wondering how the Potters manged to pull off such a coup.
