Stoke are hoping to tie up five new signings before tomorrows transfer deadline. The Potters transfer activity is hotting up and deals for Jermaine Jenas, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Marc Wilson should all be confirmed today, with Hugo Rodallega and David Wheater both still well on the Potters radar.

Wilson, 23, is the Portsmouth captain but looks set to turn down advances from West Ham and Wigan to join the Potters on a four year deal, with David Kitson and Liam Lawrence, along with £300,000 heading the opposite way.

Icelandic legend Gudjohnsen, 31, looks set to join the Potters on a season long loan after impressing during a six month loan spell at Tottenham last season. Currently at Monaco, Gudjohnsen knows his first team chances are limited in the principality and is reportedly jumping at the chance of regular first team football once again.

England international Jenas has seen his career stall of late, with injuries seeing him fall down the pecking order at White Hart Lane, as the players brought in whilst he has been out have impressed and carried Spurs to a 4th place finish last season. The deal for Jenas is a reported 12 month loan, with a view to a £7m permanent transfer should both parties wish to proceed next summer.

Rodallega has been chased by the Potters all summer but Wigan are refusing to sell unless they get Turkish striker Tuncay in exchange, plus cash. The Potters have agreed to the deal but the problem lies in getting Tuncay to agree terms at the DW Stadium at the ex-Fenerbahce star is so far refusing to move to the Lancashire side. City are hoping they can come to an agreement with the Latics before tomorrows 6pm transfer deadline.

Wheater, 23, has been a regular in Middlesbrough's XI for four years now and has been on Pulis' radar since last summer, after Boro's relegation. The ex-England U21 international has been linked with a £3,5m move to the Britannia Stadium, with former Boro defender Andrew Davies rejoining the Riverside Stadium club from the Potters as part of the deal.

City are also keeping tabs on a number of players but are not expecting to complete those deals.
