Car Parking
Article by Rob Stanway Friday, 26th November 2004
A guide on where to leave your motor when visiting the Britannia Stadium

South Car Park

£5 and tickets must be purchased in advance from the Britannia Stadium ticket office. You will need to keep your ticket in view as you enter and park on the car park including the duration of the match.

The South car park can be accessed from Trentham Road or from the A50 and through the main slip road into the Britannia Stadium.

Power League

Parking is available on the Power League complex next to the stadium (In between the stadium and our academy tent). The spaces are limited to a few hundred cars so be early to ensure a space. Parking Costs £5 and you pay on the way in and display your ticket on the dashboard of your car.

Heron Cross School and Bowling Club

Parking is available for a few hundred cars so it is recommended that you arrive early. This car park will cost you £2.50 on the matchday. It is positioned on the opposite side of the A50 to the stadium but is next to the footbridge which leads to the stadium footpath, a 10 minute walk at a maximum.

From the A50 with the Stadium on your right, come off at the slip road signposted Heron Cross and turn left and you will come to some traffic lights. At those lights turn left (following signs for Stoke) and half a mile down the road you can turn right into this car park.

Longton Rugby club
With Stoke City FC successfully retaining their premiership status for the 2009/10 season, Longton Rugby are again offering a limited number of car parking places at their headquarters on Eastern Rise, off Stanley Matthews Way (just 10 minutes walk from the Britannia Stadium) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Choosing to park at Longton Rugby takes the headache away, and gives you access to a warm, friendly environment where you can wait for the post match travel chaos to subside, whilst enjoying a meal and a drink and watching all the football results and analysis on our big screens.

Facilities

In addition to secure parking with CCTV supervision, Longton Rugby offers a superb clubhouse with luxurious bars selling Carling, Guinness, London Pride, Timothy Taylors and other excellent beers along with fresh snacks.

Both of our bars have big-screen Sky TVs where you can enjoy the pre and post-match atmosphere.

Our customers during the 2008/9 season have praised our provision of an “Executive Suite” atmosphere at the Club, which we will maintain next season.

For 2009/10 we intend to extend our catering facilities to provide more choice on match days. This should ensure an even better pre and post-match experience for our Stoke City FC Match Day customers.

Parking ChargeLimited places are available at a price of £125 plus VAT per car, which will allow parking on all weekend and mid-week Premiership and Cup match

Street Parking

The street parking is limited around the stadium, particuarly on Sir Stanley Matthews Way where you will recieve a fixed penalty for parking anywhere on the double yellow lines.

There are some non-residential parking areas in heron cross but if you don't know the area, It is advised not to bother. Alternatively you can park in Stoke, come off the A500 and park in the town near to the Michelin or anywhere near the Victoria Ground would mean you have about a 15-20 minute walk.

Police message - Home fans

Fans are advised to use the organised coaches to travel to and from Britannia Stadium, or use the club shuttle bus service from Stoke town centre.

Car users should, where possible, pre-book their parking with one of the organised car parks. Disabled blue badge parking on double yellow lines around the stadium is not allowed. Bluebadge holders are advised to book parking with the club.

All vehicles illegally parked on the grass verges on the A50 and A500 will betowed away for safety reasons.  Drivers of removed vehicles will have to pay all recovery and storage costs before their vehicle can be returned (Estimated cost over £150)

Official pub buses will park in Gordon Banks Drive at all matches. Shuttle bus services will operate from Stanley Matthews Way.

After the match, traffic will not be allowed on Stanley Matthews Way.Cars leaving the West and North car parks will not be able to turn left towards the A500.

Cars from the South car parks will be forced to turn right towards Trentham and Newstead.

These plans ensure the safety of all road users and to keep delays to a minimum. Restrictions will be lifted by the police as soon as it is safe to do so.

Police message - Away Fans

Fans are advised to use the organised coaches to travel to and from Britannia Stadium.

The Britannia Stadium is well away from the nearest town and there are no designated pubs locally which accept visiting coaches.

Always travel direct to the stadium so you don’t miss the match.
