Stoke Ramblers 8-1 Manchester United

The Ramblers got back to winning ways in comprehensive fashion at Bradeley Football Development Centre.

Despite missing one or two players the hosts started well and went close more than once early on whilst the visitors showed some decent build up play without threatening the goal.

A nasty injury to influential defender Craig Taylor ended his participation after less than half an hour, the defender picking up suspected ankle ligament damage jockeying a ball out for a goal kick.

By this time the Ramblers had opened the scoring and led 2-0 at the break thanks to a drilled effort from Lee Tawn and a tap in from Simon Duckmanton.

The sides shared a goal apiece shortly after the break, a first of the season from Chris Cope for the home side, before the Ramblers stretched away thanks to opening Ramblers goals for Martin Sheldon and Simon Myatt with Tawn adding a hat trick of late strikes after coming back on for the final fifteen minutes following his temporary withdrawal just after half time.

Following the 8th goal the Ramblers decided to take off centre back Simon Myatt and play with 10 men to try and keep within the IFA spirit and even the sides up for the closing stages.
